Just added to rotation here at #VWRadio – it’s Ploma Drive, hailing from Seneca, SC, a rock ‘nr oll band that brings a soulful atmosphere to the stage and beyond. Formed by a group of lifelong friends in 2004, the band independently released the EP Address to Remember, recorded and produced under the direction of Seth Bolt (needtobreathe).
As life would have it, the band found themselves on hiatus as school and life took them in different directions. The guys always had such a strong desire to get back to their roots and play music again. In 2015, their best friend and guitar player unexpectedly passed away. The band knew that it was now or never, and it was time to play music again.
Enlisting the help of their closest family and friends, Rock the Ranch Music Festival (www.rocktheranchmusicfest.com) was born. A two-fold endeavor to honor the memory of their friend and bandmate and to revitalize a concert series from the 1970’s held at the historic Charlie B. Ranch Arena in Seneca, SC. Rock the Ranch is now in its fourth year of existence and is recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization. All proceeds from the music festival are donated to two special charities: Shriners Hospital for Children, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Throughout the end 2018, Ploma Drive hit the studio to record some new songs the first time in over a decade. This project resulted in The Ghosts EP, recorded at Red Arrow Studio in Westminster, SC. The EP was released everywhere on May 10, 2019.
The songs reflect on love, loss, and adjusting to significant life changes. The band is excited for these songs to become your new favorites and to kick-start a new chapter for Ploma Drive.
