New To #VWRadio: The Giantess

Three tracks were just uploaded into the #VWRadio library by the amazing young band, The Giantess, who make their home in Southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley.

New to the music scene, Tess Minnick (Lead Vocals) and Rob Gunderson (Lead Guitar) have been writing songs together since April 2018.

Tess is a professional and semi-retired ballroom dance and swing dance champion of 13 years and very recently decided to switch careers to fulfill her life long dream of being a rock star.

Performing at area festivals, bars, wineries and casinos, both as a duo and with a band, Tess describes their music as “blues/rock with a jazzy pop and rockabilly twist.”

Rob and Tess find inspiration everywhere they go and especially enjoy writing songs in the car. Rob plucks his $12 goodwill guitar and Tess drives and ponders the human condition aloud until songs emerge

Looking to release their debut album in late June 2019, the topics of the songs they’ve written together so far, range from “420 Blues”, a song about just wanting to get high and go to bed, to “Bearface’s Revenge (A Tail Of Murder)”, a jazzy song about Tess’s cat killing lizards.

Their stage show is theatrical, lighthearted  and energetic and they look forward to taking it on tour in the near future.
